Amidst the busyness of work this summer, we have been squeezing in some camping here and there. While my husband is super predictable most of the time, one of the reasons I married him, he can also be so fly by the seat of his pants. It’s not often really, but it’s also one of the reasons we work. It totally speaks to my gypsy side. This past weekend after breakfast while we were talking about what our weekend plans should be, he suggested we just take off camping. So we did. It was a bit of a rush getting all packed up and out the door, but it sure was a fun weekend. It’s always fun to just get away. There is something relaxing about all being so close. No one can be in a different room. We can’t be separated for too long. There are no worries about dishes, laundry, yard work, house work, or even computer work. It’s just nice to play together. Relax together. Sometimes the best trips are the unplanned ones. We hit up Cabella’s in Dundee and stayed at a nearby campground. The night crowd was a bit much, but not soo much we couldn’t sleep. Izzy had a great time swimming and playing and riding around her bike. I want her to be little forever and ride around her little radio flyer with no pedals. It’s the cutest thing ever. Sunday morning we decided on a whim to go to the zoo on the way home. It was Izzy’s first time at the zoo! I think her highlight was riding the choo choo train. She loved the bears and big dinosaur. We were all worn out when we got home, but in a good way. It was a fun trip.
