whattowearthumbWhat should I/we wear?
If you are a larger group, solid colors work best. You do not all need to have on the same color shirt and pants, but keep the colors in the same color family (example: brown and sage). If you have coordinating children’s outfits that looks good as well, with the parents wearing solid colors. Please download this handy guide to help you along.

How does ordering and paying work?
Brides: In order to hold your wedding date 20% of the package price is due immediately. The remainder of the balance is due on the day of or before your wedding before any shooting takes place. Once you receive your contract it contains the details. In order to receive a contract, you must have deposited 20%. Regardless of the prints in your package you will still be emailed a website address and password to view and purchase photos online.

All others: Your session fee is due at the time of the session. You can pay via check, cash or credit card. Within 2 weeks of your shoot, your photos will be ready for you to come into the studio and proof and choose your prints. After your proofing session, you will be emailed an access code to view and/or purchase images from a protected online gallery. You can share this gallery with friends and family as well.

How far will you drive?
In essence, as far as you would like for a fee. I cover a 30 mile radius at no charge. Beyond 30 miles of 49010, it is $1.00/mile. This generally covers as far as Grand Rapids, Holland and Kalamazoo.

I’m booking my wedding and reception locations, how much time do I need for pictures?
As a general rule of thumb (again, each wedding is different so please know this is not set in stone) I will need about 3 hours for pictures regardless of if you see each other before the ceremony or not. If you plan to see each other before the ceremony this is the easiest way to plan the timeline for photography:

  • 1 hour (this does not include travel time to locations, so if we go to different locations you will have to add travel time to that) for pictures of the bride and groom. We will start with the two of you in a private meeting then go on to our session from there.
  • 45 minutes (depending on how big your wedding party is we may need less time) for the wedding party pictures and group shots. Again if we need to travel we can mix and match the 1 hour B&G session with the wedding party session.
  • 30 minutes for family pictures. If you have more than just your immediate family in the pictures we may need a bit of extra time. I like to have the bride tucked away about 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.

If you do not plan to see each other before the ceremony, here is what I would suggest for the timeline:

  • 30 minutes for family pictures (and family pictures can be done inside or outside depending on your location, weather etc…)
  • 45 minutes for group pictures
  • 1 hour for bride and groom pictures

I realize this doesn’t add up to 3 hours, but I am allowing for “running behind’ time too.

I hope this helps you all in your planning and helps to answer some of your questions!!
