A Fresh 48 session is a documentary style session completed within the first 48 hours at the location of birth without having the entire labor or birth documented. These lifestyle sessions are perfect for remembering those first couple days forever. Photos of your little one’s first yawns, cute baby feet, tiny fingers, lil belly button, first feedings and snuggles will be captured. If you have family visiting we can schedule your session during that time as well to get grandparents meeting their new grandbaby or siblings meeting their new brother or sister. This is not a session with props, backdrops and lights. It is capturing your baby’s sweet new moments in a natural way.

I travel to Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and any areas in between, including the Lakeshore area.

When do I book my newborn session?

We recommend you getting in touch with us as soon as you know you want to use our services for your session! We have a never ending stash of photography props and often times search out new ones for new sessions so the farther in advance the better. We can finalize your newborn session time within 2 weeks of your due date. Of course birth is hard to plan for, so we are more than flexible. Just let us know once you’ve delivered and we will go from there!

When is the best time?

As soon as possible! We suggest doing your newborn session within the first 2 weeks of life.

Where do we do the session?

The majority of our newborn sessions take place in your home. If the weather is warm enough and you’re comfortable with the idea, we can take the session outdoors.

I have a collection of buckets, bowls, baskets, hats and blankets I will be bringing to your session. If you have any specific ideas, please let me know in advance to allow ample amount of time to plan and get any special props that might be needed. If you have any family heirlooms you want to incorporate we would love to do that as well! We are always open to new ideas!

How long will the session be?

Newborn sessions last anywhere from an hour to three hours. It all depends on your baby’s mood and sleepiness and how often they want to eat and be snuggled. We are patient and just go with the flow.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

What if my baby isn’t cooperating?

The most important thing is to not stress! Babies can sense your anxiety and stress so it’s very important to not get riled up and to remain calm. We will try a variety of things, but don’t stress out if things aren’t going in the picture perfect direction you were envisioning. Wide eyed baby photos are just as beautiful as sleepy ones. We are very patient with eating and diaper changes and snuggles so we will take as much time out as needed.

What if my baby poops on you?

Poop happens. Don’t stress. Little boys pee on things. It’s cool and we are used to it. All our blankets are washed between sessions and there’s no need to feel embarrassed.

What should I wear?

Having just given birth you might not be feeling your most glamorous, so just keep it simple and casual. Throw in a little color if you want, but no busy patterns. Soft sweaters and cardigans always look nice and if you want to appear most flattering choose a darker color top. We suggest higher necklines to keep the eye from being drawn to your chest in your photos. If you want some skin on skin portraits with your baby, wear a cami or a tank under your shirt so we can capture both looks. For your hubby we suggest just simple solid knits or a comfy sweater. Something not too busy with no logos

Your baby’s safety comes first! If there is ever a point where you become uncomfortable, just let us know! We take every measure to ensure that your baby is never in any danger. For that reason, we will always make sure that a parent or assistant is nearby to lend support if needed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This is perfect for the expecting parents to plan for the first year of pictures.
Includes 3 sessions at newborn, 6 months and and one year milestones
A 10×20 custom collage with 1 image from each session on stand out mount presented after final session ($250 value)

All 3 sessions must be completed by 20 months of age
*option to add sessions at 3 and 9 months for $75/session
*mini maternity digital session available for $250 add on
(typically done between 34-36 weeks gestation)
*total session fee is due at first session and there are no refunds for unfinished sessions

e-baby digital – $1400
USB Drive of the edited images from each of the 3 sessions in the baby’s first year option images are delivered via dropbox about a week after each of the 3 sessions, then all burned to one final USB presented after the third session. This option is paid all at once after the newborn session, or in two installments of $600 each at the newborn and 6 month sessions.
