Help Portrait + Project Connect
Such an amazingly fabulous day yesterday helping with project connect at the Kalamazoo Fairgrounds and Expo Center. There were over 40 free services provided to over 1,000 local area residents. Services ranging from hair cuts, mending, vision and hearing screening and many more. It was such a joy to see kids and families proudly come up to get their portrait taken. They were just in awe and many of them had never had a family photo before so it was so fun to see how happy they were to get a pic of them and their children. I am so excited that Help Portrait partnered with this project and I can’t wait to volunteer with more of them! My heart is so near and dear to the candid photos of the kids. Ah, I just love these kids! The most beautiful part about this for me is that it is local. These are the people in our community who are hurting and poor and needy and that’s where my heart is at! My globe is Judea and what a blessing to be a part of this! So much work went into organizing so thank you to everyone who did so much prep work for this event! Senior Year + Best Friends Forever
Had a great time taking pics of Anna and her best buddy Meghan. They were an absolute riot! We rocked out some old cars and chairs and climbed around outside and then took things in the studio and got super goofy. Had a great time with you girls!
Summer Studio Hours
This summer is full of super fun family sessions and weddings! Our hours are going to be a bit different in the summer to accommodate our clients in shooting in different locations outdoors, and lots of evenings and weekends; however we will be in the studio a few mornings during the week if you ever want to pop in and say hello!
We will be in the studio Tues – Thurs from 10am – 1pm
Happy Mother’s Day
Today was such a great day with my family. I am so blessed to have both grandmother’s. I think they become more beautiful every single year. Of course my mother truly is my best friend though thick and thin and I am more thankful for her each year that passes. I know there are many more things she will teach me in my life time, but one of the biggest things she’s taught me is about time. I used to whine about not having enough time and she promptly set me straight and told me to never complain about not having enough time because we choose what we do with our time. I have been very careful ever since to choose wisely in whom and what I invest my time. Family became a huge priority for me after that conversation with her many years ago. It has helped me so much in managing my business. I do choose what I do with my time, and I so love and cherish the people with whom I spend it!
Spring Fling + Vanderlaan Family
Let me just say I absolutely adore this family. I had the honor of doing their photos when baby Jenna was born and I can’t believe how much she has grown! Brooke just reminds me of myself when I was little so I love her so much. Getting a real smile out of her is tough so it’s super fun when I can capture her not scowling.:) Thanks for such a great time!!
