One of my favorite things are Lake Michigan beach photos of families getting together! I love vacationing families along the lakeshore who are reuniting together from different states to spend some time together. This family was no exception. I love grandmas and grandpas getting generational photos and photos with their grandkids. Not sure why it brings me so much joy, but it sure does!
I’m so happy this family was able to get together for lake Michigan beach photos in South Haven. I’m also soo happy I was able to photograph all of them together. We had a little rain at the beginning of our session, but it gave way to just a lovely overcast beach day. A large softbox sky is perfect for photo lighting!
The boys had a good time being rough and tumble like boys do. Capturing kids in their natural element of crazy makes for great photos. Parents like them on their best behavior but…those faces! Those giggles, smiles and personalities shining through comes through so great in photos!
Often times air bnbs have photographers they recommend and I am happy to be one of them. These moments are really what I live for all summer. While the beach has gotten busy and can have some busy times there’s still generally plenty of lake shore to find some great photo spots!
This family did such a great job coordinating their outfits too with the mix of solids and prints and staying in beach neutral tones. The navy a khaki is always a classic without too much white being over done. Throwing in a bit of gray and more subtle blue tones it was the perfect combination. The grandparents are a perfect focal point with grandma in a bit of turquoise to pop in the middle. And…how sweet are they walking together?!
